City casino pact at hand

(June 22, 2004) — While the Pataki administration nears a tentative settlement with the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma for a downtown Rochester casino, state lawmakers said Monday that there’s no way a deal would get passed in the state Legislature before the session ends today.
Gov. George Pataki and the Oklahoma tribe could any day announce a tentative land-claim settlement that would include building a $500 million casino in the heart of downtown.
