Lakes Entertainment client loses bid for casino

Lakes Entertainment Inc.'s shares retreated in morning trading, after the company reported an Indian Tribe it was working with, was denied recognition by the federal government.
The Minnetonka-based operator of casino's and the World Poker Tour, said in a statement the Bureau of Indian Affairs had denied a second request by the Nipmuc Nation in Massachusetts to be recognized as an official tribe.
The ruling means that the group will not be able to build a casino, ending a deal Lakes had to develop and manage that casino.
