Argosy plans $75 million expansion for Kansas City casino

Argosy Gaming Co. plans to spend $75 million to expand the Argosy Casino Riverside in the Kansas City area, the company said Tuesday.
The investment includes a 250-room hotel and a new 1,400-space parking garage. It is an addition to a $105 million expansion the company completed in December 2003, which included a new casino.
The expansion led to a nearly 57 percent increase in gaming revenue in the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year. In addition, its market share increased to 22.2 percent from 15.7 percent in the same period last year, the company said.
