Residents speak out against casino bid
|
CROMPTON -- Residents from West Warwick’s, Coventry and East Greenwich gathered at 463 East Greenwich Ave. late yesterday afternoon in an anti-casino rally.
The neighborhood residents said they wanted to get out the "truth" about the casino that people are looking to as the cure-all for West Warwick.
Children stood on the front lawn overlooking East Greenwich Avenue holding anti-casino signs that declared such phrases as "Quick fix thinking/Poverty and Desperation/Let CT Keep It" and "Gambling addiction/Kids left in cars/ Not in my backyard!"
