|
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Casino operator Harrah's Entertainment Inc. said Tuesday that it paid about $73 million as an additional purchase price for the Bluffs Run Casino.
Harrah's acquired Bluffs Run racetrack and casino as part of the 2001 Harveys Casino Resorts acquisition. Harveys had bought Bluffs Run from the Iowa West Racing Association in 1999.
Harrah's assumed the terms of the Harveys-Iowa West transaction. Included in those terms was a provision for an increase in the purchase price for Bluffs Run if the State of Iowa cut racerack casino gaming taxes before 2007.
